On September 11, Dan Ettinger leads the Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo in performing Anton Bruckner’s glorious Symphony No. 7 in E major. Ettinger was appointed Music Director of Teatro di San Carlo in 2023 and continues to serve in the role today. He has conducted other Bruckner works, including Symphony No. 4 with the Israel Symphony Orchestra, and will lead Symphony No. 5 with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria in April of 2027.

His interpretations of Bruckner have been described as “skillfully calibrating the crescendos, the relationships between light and shadow, so essential in Bruckner’s poetics. He avoids falling into the trap of sonic outbursts of empty triumphalism; he ensures the balance between the brass section—the cross and delight of Bruckner’s symphonies—and that of the strings and woodwinds” (L’ape musicale/Luigi Raso).
