On July 17-30, Dan Ettinger returns to The Israeli Opera, conducting Puccini’s high-stakes political thriller, Tosca. Ettinger has previously conducted this masterwork at the Royal Opera House, where he was praised for how he “conjured up lashings of brightness and colour to add to Puccini’s sweeping dynamic contours” (Bachtrack), as well as Teatro San Carlo and Opera National De Paris.

Ettinger leads two fantastic casts, featuring Elena Mikhailenko and Anna Nechaeva sharing the title role, with Alexey Dolgov and Eduardo Aladrén as Cavaradossi, Mikolaj Zalasinski and Ionut Pascu as Scarpia, and Oded Reich and Yair Polishook as Angelotti. Ido Ricklin, The Israeli Opera’s dramaturg, directs.
