This April, Dan Ettinger returns to Teatro di San Carlo, where he is Music Director, for one of opera’s most beloved works: Puccini’s La bohème. Ettinger has previously conducted Puccini’s ravishing score at some of the world’s most prominent opera houses, including Royal Opera and Ballet and The Metropolitan Opera, where “His exceptional attention to the details of the score gave impressive shape to the dramatic character of the piece, notably as he took extra time to eke out the pathos of the closing bars” (New York Classical Review).

Ettinger leads two all-star casts in Bárbara Lluch’s production, featuring Pretty Yende and Elsa Dreisig as Mimì, Kang Wang and René Barbera as Rodolfo, Marina Monzó and Maria Knihnytska as Musetta, Artur Rucinski and Liam James Karai as Marcello, Alessio Arduini as Schaunard, Gianluca Buratto as Colline, and Matteo Peirone as Benôit/Alcindoro.

La bohème runs April 8-14.
