This February,  Dan Ettinger returns to The Israeli Opera, where he is Music Director, to lead the world premiere of Josef Bardanashvili’s new opera, The Dybbuk. The opera is based on a play written by S. An-sky between 1914 and 1916, which tells the story of Leah and Hanan, young lovers separated by class and fate, whose souls remain united after Hanan dies and possesses Leah’s body. 

Directed by Ido Ricklin, who also acted as librettist, Ettinger leads a large ensemble cast, including Alla Vasilevitsky as Leah, Oded Reich as Hanan, Rona Shrira as Frida, Efrat Hacohen Bram as Gitel, Tamara Navoth as Batya, Ionuț Pascu as Sander, Kirill Odintsov as Henach, and Eitan Drori as Asher. 

The Dybbuk plays February 18 – 25.
