Dan Ettinger returns to The Israeli Opera, where he is Music Director, January 18-28. He will conduct Tchaikovsky’s final opera, Iolanta, which tells the story of a princess blind from birth, kept hidden until love forces her to confront the world. The new production, directed by Lee Weiss Shirit, marks the first time that the company has produced this lush and romantic work. 

Ettinger leads an incredible ensemble cast, with Yorentz Ani and Akhmedova Angelina sharing the role of Iolanta, with Dolgov Alexey/Valuzhin as Count Vaudémont, Reich Oded/Antakov Semyon as Robert, Gazaryan Vazgen/Vemić Sava as King Rene, Kissin Yuri as Bertrand, Pascu Ionut/Szabó Bálint as Ibn-Hakia, Valuzhin Pavel/Ezra Adi as Alméric, Prochnick Edna/Bloch Shay as Marta, Kovalski Shlomit Leah/Odintsov Veronika as Brigitta, and Czarny Anat/Nishri Tamara as Laura.
