This spring, Dan Ettinger returns to orchestras with which he enjoys close artistic ties in Israel and Italy, leading a series of diverse programs that include beloved works by Rachmaninoff, world premieres, and his own new arrangements of suites by Shostakovich.

On April 20, 21, 24, and 26, Israel Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director Dan Ettinger takes the podium for an exciting program featuring Weinberg’s Violin Concerto, performed by acclaimed violinist Linus Roth, along with the world premiere of Ziv Salma’s Logogen, and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (“From the New World”). The performances will take place at The Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center on April 20, Beit Ha’Am in Rehovot on April 21, and the Hall of Culture in Rishon LeZion on April 24 and 26.

On May 4, Ettinger will lead his Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo in works by Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff. The concert, featuring pianist Sergei Babayan, includes Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in F-sharp minor, Op. 1, selections from Shostakovich’s Ballet Suites, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1 in F minor, Op. 10.

In June, Ettinger returns to Israel to conduct the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in a program featuring his own arrangement of Shostakovich’s Suite from Music for Ballet and Film, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with pianist Illia Ovcharenko, and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1. Performances will be held at Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv on June 7, 11, and 12, at the Baruch and Ruth Rappaport Center for Art and Culture in Haifa on June 8, and at the Jerusalem Theater on June 10.
