In the month of June, Maestro Dan Ettinger takes the baton to lead the Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo in two captivating programs.

On June 16, the first concert will witness the remarkable pianist Alexandra Dovgan grace the stage, showcasing her prodigious talents in Fryderyk Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, op. 21.  The program continues with Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, also known as the “New World” Symphony, Op. 95. This symphony stands as a crowning achievement in the classical repertoire, embodying Dvořák’s quest to incorporate American folk melodies into his distinctive fusion of European and American musical influences.

Then, on June 21, Maestro Ettinger will once again take the stage, guiding the orchestra through the wondrous compositions of Tchaikovsky. The evening will commence with the enthralling melodies of the Violin Concerto in D major, op. 35, featuring the debut of the remarkable Giuseppe Gibboni, a recipient of the esteemed Paganini Prize in 2021. The grand finale of the evening will be Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in B minor, op. 64, a symphonic masterpiece that exudes the composer’s profound artistry and emotional depth.
