‘Les contes d’Hoffmann’ at Israeli Opera
This November, Dan Ettinger conducts a new production of Les contes d’Hoffmann at Israeli Opera. Born in Israel, Mr. Ettinger has held the position of Music Director for the company since 2018.
In this co-production with l’Opéra de Lausanne and l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Stefano Poda brings an elegant and grandiose new staging to the masterful work which is based on three short stories by E. T. A. Hoffmann, the protagonist in the opera.
Several of the cast members alternate performances throughout the run including Bernard Richter and Charles Workman as Hoffmann, Anat Czarny and Shay Bloch as Niklausse, Vito Priante and Ionut Pascu as Lindorf/Coppelius/Miracle/Dapertutto, Hila Fahima and Veronika Brook as Olympia, Alla Vasilevitsky and Ira Bertman as Antonia, and Elinor Sohn and Shaked Strul as Giulietta.
Performances take place on November 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 18.
