Bizet’s ‘Carmen’ at Teatro di San Carlo

Dan Ettinger returns to the Teatro di San Carlo this month for two concert performances of Bizet’s Carmen on June 25 & 27. Ettinger will conduct a superstar cast, as well as the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro di San Carlo and the Coro di Voci Bianche del Teatro di San Carlo for these concert performances. Ettinger last conducted this famous work at the Bayerische Staatsoper with Bachtrack praising him for his “carefully paced” and “great emotional depth and a sensitivity to the singers.”

Elīna Garanča will star as the title role Carmen, with Brian Jagde as Don José, Mattia Olivieri as Escamillo, Daniele Terenzi as Moralès, Gabriele Sagona as Zuniga, Selene Zanetti as Micaëla, Aurora Faggioli as Mercédès, and Mariam Battistelli as Frasquita, among others.
