What do we do in the face of empty concert halls? How do we deal with the loss that grips every musician in times when orchestras are not allowed to come together and play for audiences?

With the recent cancellations due to coronavirus, Dan Ettinger responds to these questions with an extraordinary collaboration between two orchestras of which he is principal conductor: The Stuttgarter Philharmoniker and the Israel Symphony Orchestra. The fantastic ensembles merge virtually to perform Mozart’s sublime Piano Concerto No. 23, featuring Maestro Ettinger at the piano, less than a year after his serious hand injury.

To support the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker during this challenging time, the German Orchestra Foundation has launched a nationwide fundraising campaign in favor of freelance professional musicians. For more information, click here.
