The Royal Opera House will stream David McVicar’s spectacular production of Gounod’s best-loved opera Faust, from July 17 to 29. As part of the ROH’s #OurHouseToYourHouse series, Dan Ettinger conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Royal Opera House featuring a star-studded cast including Michael Fabiano as the title role, Irina Lungu as Marguerite, Erwin Schrott as Méphistophélès. Experience the decadence and elegance of 1870s Paris in David McVicar’s dazzling production.

The production will be available to stream starting July 17 at 7 pm London / 2 pm New York, through July 29 via the Royal Opera House’s YouTube. Ettinger’s performance in this production from the 2018/19 season received critical acclaim from The Arts Desk raving:

“Ettinger points up the dances’ superior quality, but he also finds subtleties in Gounod’s more chamber-like moments, with splendid work from the Royal Opera first clarinet especially, works wonders on the ghost-reminiscences of Marguerite in the final scene and allows no slack in the bulky drama, while never going into overdrive.”
